Ten Minute Study Plan

Yes .... 10 minutes!

Come on ... even YOU can find ten minutes ......

In just ten minutes a day you can improve all aspects of your English, widen your vocabulary, learn some phrasal verbs ... speed up your reading, develop your listening skills and build up your confidence before exam day. Try some (or all) of the following:

1 Go to http://news.bbc.co.uk/weather/forecast/193 and see what the weather in Bilbao is going to be like for the next five days.

2 Go to http://www.flo-joe.com/fce/students/wordbank/index.htm and look at the phrasal verb of the day, word formation of the day and collocation of the day.

3 Listen to a song in English ... any song ..... sing along (good pronunciation practice!)

4 Post a message on this blog! We'd love to hear from you ; )

5 Go to http://www.guardian.co.uk/ and read five of the day's main news headlines. If you have time, read an article.

6 Choose a vocabulary area (eg food, animals) and write a list of 26 words - one for every letter of the alphabet. Write words that "contain" the letter for any you can't think of!

7 Go to http://www.jamieoliver.com/ and find a recipe from Britain's favourite cook. Copy the ingredients and instructions and make the dish!

8 Go to http://www.bbc.co.uk/worldservice/ and listen to the BBC World Service live. Listen for 3 minutes and then write a brief summary of what you heard.

9 Read the irregular verb list at the back of your coursebook - then hide the third column, write the verbs and check whether you have got them right.

10 Read one of the grammar reference sections at the back of your coursebook. If you have time tomorrow ... read another one!
